2013 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta First Look – The successor to the 599 GTB Fiorano has just been officially presented. With the opening scheduled for March 8 in Geneva, the sport, unlike what was speculated, and not be called F12 berlinetta F620. Considered one of the fastest vehicles ever made by Ferrari, the Lamborghini Aventador model will have as its main competitor.
Measuring 4.61 meters long, 1.94 m wide and 1.27 m in height, 4.7 cm Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is shorter, more narrower 1.9 cm and 6.3 cm lower than 599 GTB . Under the hood, the model has a 6.3 V12 engine of 740 horsepower at 8700 rpm and 69.5 lb.-ft. of torque at 6,000 rpm.
Governed by a seven-speed automatic transmission and double clutch, the engine takes the model to 100 km / h in just 3.1 seconds and makes a top speed of 310 km / h. Mounted in a central position, the propeller turns its power on the rear wheels and allows you to distribute the weight of 1525 kg in the ratio 46:54 (front and rear).
According to Ferrari, the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta chassis was developed by using different types of links 12, which helped to reduce the final weight of 70 kg model in comparison to 599 GTB and increase structural rigidity of the body 20 %. Consumption has been optimized and now is around 6.6 km / l, thanks especially to the action of start / stop system. Sales in the main European market will be launched later this year, priced at around 350,000 euros.
